Project Description
Port of Tyne
Port of Tyne
A materials handling plant comprising of 1Km of conveyors transporting biomass ( wood chip fuel pallets ) to Lynemouth power station. Our early engagement by Spencer Group involved developing a 3D model that identified the cable containment routes and building services supports. Due to the complexity of the conveyor systems and the restricted area / space to work within, the development of the model helped tremendously to determine the most suitable routes that would allow access to install , but also to maintain at a later stage.
Interface’s design team worked closely with Spencers team to ensure all disciplines could be accommodated on the structure. To assist in this, we developed jointly, a system whereby large sections of the work could be prepared in modular form at ground level before lifting in to place. Our scope of work consists of power, control and instrumentation cabling. Status signal cabling and a full building services design and installation throughout the conveyors and the associated administration and ancilliary buildings are also part of our scope. The plant came on line in late summer 2017.
