Purpose of the job:
To provide a professional commercial support services to the project teams through the efficient administration of contracts; identifying and controlling costs and commercial risks & opportunities in support of the overall business plan.

To understand and adhere to the business processes applicable to the role when completing all tasks and duties.
To prepare for and attend with respective PM’s monthly project reviews to communicate risk and financial performance.
Support the PM’s to provide detailed progress to date, forward projections on the completion of all project deliverables and present improvements to existing processes for discussion.
To achieve all objectives as required by the annual appraisal process
To gain a full understanding of the Commercial Systems & Procedures as they apply within each contract.
Principal Responsibilities / Duties:
Assist with Budget/Estimate Preparation & Validation
In support of Sales Team prepare and validate budgets/estimates for inclusion in proposals / responses tom tenders
Assist in performing Risk & Value Management
In conjunction with Sales Team prepare a Risk Register
Cost Control (see below)
Review of Client proposed Terms & Conditions and lead on responses to client and contract formulation / conformance prior to award, Identifying risk & liabilities and alternative wording, etc.
Assist with the setting and agreeing of Sub Contract Strategy where applicable and ensure that Sub Contracts are back to back at worst with client terms and conditions to avoid risk exposure
provide cost management external and internal reporting for assigned projects, including, but not limited to, cost collation and reporting against agreed budgets and cost breakdown structures. Analysis of cost information throughout the life cycle of a project, reporting forecasts, anticipated final costs, etc. and variances against budgets.
Application and administration of robust change and risk management processes in support of assigned projects.
Cost forecasting both internally and externally
Sub Contract Administration
Overview management of the Project Procurement Plan
Post Contract Administration of Subcontracts from ITT through to Final Account
Identification, processing and agreement of emergent works with clients and subcontractors to minimise exposure and risk
Input to Project Execution Plan (commercial, contract & procurement)
Compile and submit Application for Payment / Invoices process including internal and external approval for assigned projects
Management of Invoice Process in conjunction with Accounts Department, including Debt Management
Cost and Value Reconciliation for assigned projects including WIP Management
Collating and of actuals and forecasting of all design, engineering and management hours, expenses, fees and procurement costs for recovery through the contract
Commercial System & Procedures
In support of the overall business objectives Maintaining & Updating of Commercial Processes & Procedures including incorporation into quality management systems
Project Management / Commercial Interface
Train and coach existing PMs to establish better reporting of costs, risks and identification of commercial liabilities on assigned projects together with mitigation plans.
Maintain awareness and working knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract including NEC3, NEC 4, IchemE, etc
Aware of latest changes in the law and legislation affecting Contracts
