Services

“Interface Contracts are a valuable member of our supply chain providing LV cabling services on various Water and Waste Water projects. The most notable project to date was a sewage treatment facility upgrade at Davyhulme in Manchester, where ICL were awarded the LV cabling and services packages with a value of circa £4M. The packages included the design, supply, and installation of all LV EICA cabling throughout the works. These works were successfully carried out in line with project requirements while the plant remained operational. We are extremely pleased with ICL’s performance across all of our projects. They possess a wealth of experience in their work force who display high standards of workmanship, reliability and professionalism. I would recommend them to any interested parties for future design & build construction projects.”
~Steve Ross, Electrical Construction Support Manager for Black & Veatch

“Interface employ competent and experienced staff to meet requirements”
~Andy Fielding, United Utilities

In 2008 Interface made a management decision to invest in BIM and the use of 3D modelling. Believing that this would be a major step forward in keeping abreast of their opposition, Interface embarked on a training programme for their design department. Our staff are skilled in the use of various 3D modelling systems including AutoCad Plant, and are able to value engineer solutions to match the particular project requirements. The upside of this being reduced program durations, easier accessibility to equipment and in most cases, cost savings.

Using the 3D model, our design engineers will ensure that the optimum routing is utilised and that a fully coordinated design process involving the civil, mechanical and electrical disciplines is produced.

Where possible we endeavour to have regular meetings with the mechanical contractor to coordinate activities.

Our site Supervisors are trained in the use of the 3D programme using iPAD devices and are able to manage real time changes at site level and transmit these immediately back to our head office. This has streamlined the time to administer changes and had a significant impact on site durations.

The first project was awarded in 2009 that required 3D modelling and since then we have undertaken 3D / BIM modelling on 5 projects ranging in value from £ 1M to £5M. These have been in both Water and Waste Recycling processes.

As the ability to use 3D modelling becomes a fundamental requirement of design on major projects Interface Contracts are committed to ensuring that we keep at the forefront of this application and maintain our position as a market leader.

Interface – Better By Design

Interface sets itself apart from the competition in the time and expertise it dedicates to up front design – so eliminating potential on-site issues before installation begins.

It is these design skills that subsequently enable its installation teams to move seamlessly from drawings to the on-site stage and provide the basis for a safety record that is second to none in the industry.

The company’s design team offers a complete electrical design which can include 3D when required –

  • Cable calculations & schedules
  • Site lighting, layout and lighting calculations
  • Block cable diagrams
  • Building services layouts and single line diagrams

Interface Team Wins Industry Praise

Interface combines excellence of up front design with the highest calibre of installation work controlled by a site management team with decades of on-the-job experience to fall back on.

The company demands and gets unrivalled attention to detail from its installation teams whose range of expertise includes –

  • Power & control cables to all drives and instruments
  • Cabling to control stations & emergency stops
  • Main, equipotential and supplementary earth bonding
  • Telemetry and fibre optic networks
  • Supply & cable from Generator Connection Units and sub stations
  • Trace heating supplies
  • Supply & install cable, junction boxes, isolators, free issue instruments
  • Installation of building services to new & existing buildings
  • Structural lightning protection
  • “A very professional outfit. Always get on with the job and there are no problems. They know what they are doing”
